Halloween Happenings

Sporty or Scary.  It doesn’t matter what spice you like (or Spice Girl for that matter), we’ve got you covered on Halloween events here in Hampton Roads in 2015.  Keep in mind the staples like Busch Gardens for the scary stuff, and the local malls as go to stops for some easy trick-or-treating, but otherwise, try something different this year.

Run For It

  • Wicked 10K: Located in Virginia Beach, this annual race is a workout (6 miles!) AND a total blast. Dress up as your favorite anything! And head out with a group of running buddies to burn off all that candy!

  • Booyah 5k: Enjoy this festive and super decorative 5k in Port Norfolk, as well as the Little Monsters Fun Run, both designed to be a fun, relaxed and friendly way to get your Halloween festivities started.

Haunted Stuff

  • Haunted Hunt Club Farm: This "Haunted Halloween Fest," located in Virginia Beach, features a haunted hayride that winds through a "Field of Screams," as well as a "Village of the Dead." While this may not be the cheeriest event, it will surely give you a good Halloween shock and jolt!

  • Portsmouth Ghost Walk: This "spooktacular" Ghost walk has been taking place for 30 years, hosted by the Old Towne Portsmouth Civic League. Again, grab your comfy shoes and get ready for a stroll like no other.

Kid Friendly

  • Bass Pro Shop in Hampton has trick or treating for those 12 and under from 4pm-8pm with a parade at 6pm.
  • Norfolk Zoo has the Zoo Boo which offers families a safe environment to trick-or-treat, hayrides and animal pumpkin encounters at the Virginia Zoo on 3500 Granby St. Member tickets are $6, nonmembers $11 and children under 2 years old are free.
  • Peninsula Town Center offers trick or treating on October 25th.  There is face decorations, a pet costume contest and more! from 12-4 at the fountain.
