Signature Management Food Drive Provides 2,956 Meals to Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia

Signature Management Corporation's staff and employees from all eight of our properties across Hampton Roads, including York County and Williamsburg, kicked off the 2017 holiday season by participating in a food drive to support the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia from November 1, 2017 to November 17, 2017.

After weeks of collecting non-perishable, nutritious foods in designated collection boxes located at each property, Signature Management's team gathered on the November 17th and went door to door collecting paper grocery bags donated by area grocery stores from resident apartments. Altogether, our teams collectively delivered a grand total of 3,547 pounds of food, or 2,956 meals to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia's headquarters on Tidewater Drive in Norfolk, VA.

Residents from all eight communities donated generously, filling their community donation boxes and individual grocery bags to overflow, providing thousands of meals to families across the region. On November 17th, Signature Management teams from the Southside and Penninsula were proud to deliver all 3,500 pounds of food to the hardworking team at the Foodbank and learn about the work they do to help feed individuals and families across Hampton Roads and the Eastern Shore.

Signature Management's Executive Vice President, Kathy Scott, said of the experience, "I was truly overwhelmed by the generosity of the residents at each and every one of our communities. I am so very proud and honored to work alongside my Signature family and share in the spirit of giving with our incredible residents from across the region."  Many residents expressed gratitude at having had the opportunity to give, and property staff and employees were moved and inspired by the overwhelming response from residents, day after day.

If you wish to learn more about the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and would like to join them in the fight against hunger this holiday season, visit their site here. Thank you to all of our residents, employees and staff members who worked to make this food drive an overwhelmingly successful event and Happy Holidays to all.
